TODAY'S DATE IDEA: TAKE THE SCENIC ROUTE
As I've mentioned before, a date simply needs to include something new to trigger our minds to get out of our monotonous modes - a new person, place, activity - you get the picture. One way you can do that is simply by switching up your mode of transportation. Are you used to driving around your city all the time? What if you and your date took a bike ride instead? Or a walk? Or even the bus? Yes, even the BUS!
Here are a few other transportation date ideas:
*Rent a couple Segways and travel through a local park
*Rent a canoe or sailboat
*Head to a car dealership and test drive a car
*Rent a fancy car and drive around town
*Rent a pair of rollerblades or a tandem bicycle
My husband and I spent most of the day on the road from Los Angeles to Sacramento. We've driven this drive several times before. Instead we decided to stop at the viewpoints along the way to enjoy the view.
We arrived in northern California just in time for me to visit with a book club in Roseville, where I'd been invited to talk about my book, 31 Dates in 31 Days. Many of the women were married, including one woman who has five kids and has been married for 35 years.
"What's the secret to your long marriage?" I asked.
She smiled and said, "We've had a date night every week, all 35 years."
What a testament to dating!
