Every time we come to northern California I hope for a tour of The Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. Thankfully we finally made it there - and it didn't disappoint! We were given official factory tour hats and were guided along a walkway above the factory room where hundreds of yummy candies are made. The smell of sugar was so strong I felt as if Willy Wonka had given me a golden ticket and was about to send me into a pool of chocolate. Tempting!
There are similar tours in every state. Here's a list of factory tours offered around the country. Or how about taking a walking tour of your town to learn about its history or architecture? You could even research local facts and take you and your date on a self-guided tour - or maybe even turn it into a scavenger hunt.
Here are some Jelly Belly fun facts we learned ~
The top three Jelly Belly flavors are:
1. Very Cherry
2. Buttered Popcorn
3. Black Licorice
When President Ronald Reagan was inaugurated, the flavor Blueberry was introduced as the company's 9th flavor. That way, everyone could eat red (Very Cherry), white (Cream Soda), and Blue jelly beans!
