President and First Lady Obama are sharing the tale of their first date.
The skinny? It sounds like it was totally boring. In fact, it reminds me of my third date with my own husband. And you know what? That's so awesome! After all, if you can be entertained among the mundane, something good is a'brewin.
If you've read my book then you're well aware that my first and second dates with my husband were, well... kind of part of an extravaganza. By our third date (and my 32nd date in just over one month's time), I needed to just have a regular day walking around the city. We spent all day hitting up spots around midtown. When we hit Guitar Center he walked over to the banjos, picked one up, and fiddled a little tune. He mentioned that he'd always wanted one and I thought, "If we're still dating by the time it's his birthday, I could look into buying him one."
A year later he was playing his new banjo at our wedding.
Glad to hear the Obamas still appreciate the simple things in their lives.
